Win, Karyn and Luc, We each are given the gift of life without any certainty of the time we have to live it. Dan had a life journey filled with family love and love of others, the gift of music, mastering the strings and bow of his violin and musical gifts and personal creativity. He nurtured a sense of wonder and was a curious naturalist encouraged by a skilled and loving father, mother, and brother. When the Spirit calls us we hope, like Dan, we have known love, have shared the love of family, have given to others and made the world a richer place by what we have given back and the legacy we leave. Dan’s smile, sense of humor, creative talents, and circle of friends and family will live within each of us that have met him. His leaving so early in a promising life leaves the question of WHY so early in such a promising life? John Denver gave us a lyric in a song he sang with Kermit the Frog entitled It’s in everyone of us. This short lyric has helped me gain a perspective on a number of young people in my life who were called early, and the wonderment of why now, why she or he with a gifted life cut short? It’s in every one of us to be wise Find your heart Open up both your eyes We can all know everything Without ever knowing WHY It is in every one of us by and by. Dan lives on in every one of us and in this way Dan lives on in perpetuity. Win, Karyn, and Luc our hearts are open with love and support for you as you grow through this difficult transition.
